This training calendar is designed to be a statewide resource about the latest training opportunities in mental health and substance abuse recovery across Washington State. Most of these trainings are organized by outside organizations, so make sure to scroll down on the page of the training you’re interested in if you have questions or need to contact someone about the training. Introduction to Affirmative Mental Health Care for Transgender Clients

MOAB Instructor Training

Everett, WA This program is designed for those who are looking to teach communication techniques and de-escalation skills and includes physical training skills (such as restraining, self-defense tactics, minor take-downs). Upon completion, 3-Day Instructors are able to train all of the basic MOAB certification programs. Recertification is every 3 years and costs $595. Youth Mental Health First Aid

Sometimes first aid isn’t a bandage, or CPR, or calling 911. Sometimes first aid is YOU. A young person you know could be experiencing a mental health or substance use problem. Documentation for Peer Support Counselors

Certified Peer Counselors must document their work, but that documentation must be done in a way that is consistent with their unique role. This workshop helps peer support workers understand requirements of Medicaid and the Washington Administrative Codes, focusing on the type of documentations most often required by CPCs.
