Introduction to Affirmative Mental Health Care for Transgender Clients

$175The discrimination transgender and gender non- conforming people experience creates an extraordinary stress on psychological and physical health. Uninformed healthcare providers are hard pressed to meet the needs of transgender individuals without appropriate training. Unfortunately, most graduate programs do not address the needs of the gender non-conforming patient and are unable to teach the skills necessary for competent service delivery. Through our trainings, participants will learn how to create a more inclusive environment for transgender and gender nonconforming people and will gain the necessary skills to provide affirming services and care to all people, regardless of where they are on the gender spectrum.
