This training calendar is designed to be a statewide resource about the latest training opportunities in mental health and substance abuse recovery across Washington State. Most of these trainings are organized by outside organizations, so make sure to scroll down on the page of the training you’re interested in if you have questions or need to contact someone about the training. We invite you to learn about upcoming events and/or request that your training event be added to the calendar!

Regional Youth and Family Certified Peer Counselor Training

Pierce County Behavioral Health Integration Forums

For individuals, peer supporters, and families, this is a unique opportunity to learn about changes coming to the behavioral system in your area and how you can have a voice. Call For Presentation Proposals

King County Behavioral Health and Recovery Division (BHRD) is seeking presentation, workshop and panel discussion proposals to teach practical skills that promote mental health and/or substance use recovery and increase knowledge of recovery and resiliency principles and practices. Conference attendees include people in recovery, their family members, students, and service providers participating in publicly funded behavioral health services in King County. MOAB Instructor Training

Everett, WA This program is designed for those who are looking to teach communication techniques and de-escalation skills and includes physical training skills (such as restraining, self-defense tactics, minor take-downs). Upon completion, 3-Day Instructors are able to train all of the basic MOAB certification programs. Recertification is every 3 years and costs $595. Youth Mental Health First Aid

Sometimes first aid isn’t a bandage, or CPR, or calling 911. Sometimes first aid is YOU. A young person you know could be experiencing a mental health or substance use problem. Learn an action plan to help. Anyone 18 or older can take Youth Mental Health First Aid, but it is recommended for those who regularly have contact with young people 12-18 – teachers, coaches, social workers, faith leaders and other caring citizens. Documentation for Peer Support Counselors

Certified Peer Counselors must document their work, but that documentation must be done in a way that is consistent with their unique role. This workshop helps peer support workers understand requirements of Medicaid and the Washington Administrative Codes, focusing on the type of documentations most often required by CPCs. Ethics & Boundaries for Peer Support Counselors

Keys to Success: Ethics and Boundaries for Peer Support Counselors is a free, dynamic, interactive workshop designed for Peer Support Counselors in any role. The content is largely based on the International Association of Peer Specialists document, National Ethical Guidelines and Practice Standards. WRAP Facilitator Training (Seminar 2, 5 Day)

Great Rivers Requirements for Seminar 2 training: Participants must have completed a Seminar 1 introduction to WRAP or have taken an eight-week class and be using their own personal WRAP.
