Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) is a multidisciplinary, team-based model that provides intensive community-based and outreach-oriented services to people who experience the most severe and persistent mental illness. The vast majority also have a co-occurring substance use disorder and many experience comorbid medical illnesses as well as homelessness. This learning community will explore knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for working with these residents. In this month's learning community session we will talk about the normative or evaluative function of supervision. The presenters will discuss how to develop a cooperative alliance, clarify staff roles and tasks, ensure that work is performed in a manner consistent with agency policy and professional norms and ethics.
