This training calendar is designed to be a statewide resource about the latest training opportunities in mental health and substance abuse recovery across Washington State. Most of these trainings are organized by outside organizations, so make sure to scroll down on the page of the training you’re interested in if you have questions or need to contact someone about the training. NAMI Family-to-Family is a 12 week education program for family, significant others and friends of people living with mental illness. It is a designated evidence-based program. The program includes presentations, discussion and interactive exercises. It can also be taught in a 6-week format. Click here for more information.

This course is for those who are court ordered for anger management or who are interested in learning coping skills to overcome their anger. NAMI Ending the Silence is a free, 50 minute presentation designed to give students an opportunity to learn about mental illness through an informative Power Point and short videos. Through the presentation, students learn symptoms and indicators of mental illness, and are given ideas about how to help themselves, friends, or family members who may be in need of support. Additionally, the presentation includes personal testimony from a young adult living with a mental illness about his/her journey to recovery....
NAMI Peer-to-Peer is a 10-session educational program for adults with mental illness who are looking to better understand their condition and journey toward recovery. Taught by a trained team of people who've been there, the program includes presentations, discussion and interactive exercises. NAMI Parents and Teachers as Allies is a free, two-hour mental health education in-service for school professionals to help them better understand the signs and symptoms of emotional and behavioral difficulties that may be early warning signs of mental illnesses in children and adolescents. This course addresses the needs of the behavioral health provider. Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk (AMSR) is a one-day workshop for health professionals that will help them better assess suicide risk, plan treatment, and manage the ongoing care of clients at-risk for suicide. The Yakima peer training is approaching fast and there are still a few openings. This is a statewide training for all peers, which means peers from out of the area are provided hotel and meals. In Our Own Voice is a unique public education presentation that offers insight into the hope and recovery possible for people living with mental illness. Participants will learn to share their story as part of the In Our Own Voice presentation program, with the ability to return to their community and provide presentations to a variety of organizations.
