This training calendar is designed to be a statewide resource about the latest training opportunities in mental health and substance abuse recovery across Washington State. Most of these trainings are organized by outside organizations, so make sure to scroll down on the page of the training you’re interested in if you have questions or need to contact someone about the training. We invite you to learn about upcoming events and/or request that your training event be added to the calendar!

Lewis County – WaHCA Peer Continuing Education Series – Ethics & Boundaries

Ethics & Boundaries in Peer Support  is a dynamic, interactive workshop designed for Peer Support Counselors in any role. The content is largely based on the International Association of Peer Specialists document, National Ethical Guidelines and Practice Standards. Participants will come away with a clear understanding of the ethics, guidelines and boundaries that are essential to their profession. Please note, lunch will not be provided.

Clark County – WaHCA Peer Continuing Education Series – De-Escalation/Calm in the Storm

Continuing Education Workshop for Peer Support Counselors The De-Escalation curriculum is founded upon the fundamental concepts of respect, support, prevention, and the mutual relationship.  Peers will be provided with an array of effective non-violent skills that are designed to promote person-centered and recovery-based approaches. Peers will leave the workshop with skills and strategies for supporting someone whose behavior may escalate, while preserving the helping alliance.
