Training Calendar
This training calendar is designed to be a statewide resource about the latest training opportunities in mental health and substance abuse recovery across Washington State. Most of these trainings are organized by outside organizations, so make sure to scroll down on the page of the training you’re interested in if you have questions or need to contact someone about the training. We invite you to learn about upcoming events and/or request that your training event be added to the calendar!

Workshop for Supervisors & Certified Peer Counselors with Patricia Marshall, C.P.C
November 20, 2015 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
This one day training is for working Washington State Certified Peer Counselors. This training will cover information and skill building in the following areas:
- Recovery Culture & support for Recovery Culture in the organization
- Role definition—what do peer counselors do that is different from other staff?
- Principles, strategies and core competencies for recovery oriented supervision of certified peer counselors
- Supporting Certified Peer Counselors in maintaining their boundaries with the people they work with
- The peer support certification process & training overview
- Three roles of a supervisor
Patricia Marshall, CPC, is a dynamic and knowledgeable presenter. This workshop is interactive to maximize team building and learning. Patricia’s own experience in Recovery and Resilience informs her training content and style. She is a Certified Peer counselor and works with individuals and families in equine assisted peer support.
Priority registrants are CPCs who are currently working and Supervisors working with Peer Counselors. The next priority registrants are CPCs who are volunteering and any Supervisor interested in the Peer Counseling model. There is no cost for the training. Lunch will be provided. Attendees are responsible for their own transportation, lodging (if needed), and meals other than lunch.
To register, please state: whether or not you are a Certified Peer Counselor or a Supervisor; state the agency for which you work or volunteer; and confirm you want to register for the November Supervision Workshop.
