This training calendar is designed to be a statewide resource about the latest training opportunities in mental health and substance abuse recovery across Washington State. Most of these trainings are organized by outside organizations, so make sure to scroll down on the page of the training you’re interested in if you have questions or need to contact someone about the training. We invite you to learn about upcoming events and/or request that your training event be added to the calendar!

Parents and Teachers as Allies Presenters
June 18, 2016
Parents and Teachers as Allies (PTA) is a 1-to-2 hour in-service program that covers issues frequently faced by school professionals, parents and other family caregivers to give them a better understanding of the signs and symptoms of emotional and behavioral difficulties that may be early warning signs of a mental health condition in children and adolescents; lived experience of parents raising a child with a mental health condition; the challenges that children and adolescents face when emotional and behavior disturbances are part of their school life. Presentations are done in teams of three, with the roles being an Educator, a Parent, and a Person Living with Mental Illness, and it is recommended that those interested apply as part of a planned team. Prospective presenters must fill one of these roles, be 18 years of age and be(come) a NAMI Member.
