This training calendar is designed to be a statewide resource about the latest training opportunities in mental health and substance abuse recovery across Washington State. Most of these trainings are organized by outside organizations, so make sure to scroll down on the page of the training you’re interested in if you have questions or need to contact someone about the training. Clinical Skills in the Era of Legal Cannabis
June 8, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
The trend toward legalization of medical and retail cannabis presents behavioral health clinicians with unique challenges. This course summarizes current research literature related to the effects of cannabis on the mental and physical health of adolescents and adults. Evidence-based strategies and specific handouts to engage clients in productive discussions about their cannabis use will be practiced and shared in addition to multimedia resources for further study.
