This training calendar is designed to be a statewide resource about the latest training opportunities in mental health and substance abuse recovery across Washington State. Most of these trainings are organized by outside organizations, so make sure to scroll down on the page of the training you’re interested in if you have questions or need to contact someone about the training. Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk

Learn how to better assess suicide risk, plan, and manage the ongoing care of clients who are at risk.
Sign up for this class to:
- Recognize the 24 core competencies that enable social workers and mental health professionals to assess and work effectively with individuals at risk of suicide;
- Increase your knowledge and skills in eliciting suicide ideation, behavior, plans and intent;
- Increase your knowledge and skills in making a clinical judgment of the short and long term risks for suicide; and
- Increase your knowledge and skills in developing a treatment & services plan that addresses the client’s immediate, acute and continuing risk for suicidal behaviors.
