Applying the Integrated Care Approach: Practical Skills for the Psychiatric Consultant

Psychiatrists can dramatically improve the reach and impact of mental health services using integrated care approaches. This free, four hour training is an excellent introduction to providing effective mental health care for populations whether you are part of an integrated care team or run a private practice.

Designed for psychiatrists and resident psychiatrists, Applying the Integrated Care Approach was developed using proven adult learning approaches including interactivity, user engagement and active learning. The course, part of the Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative and the APA Support and Alignment Network, will be taught by UW faculty who are experts in developing and implementing the
leading models of integrated care.

Topics include:
 History of integrated care models
 Psychiatric consultation workflow
 Registry use and treating-to-target
 Initiating treatment in team care
 Common presentations in primary care
 Team functioning
 Lessons for individual practices
