This training calendar is designed to be a statewide resource about the latest training opportunities in mental health and substance abuse recovery across Washington State. Most of these trainings are organized by outside organizations, so make sure to scroll down on the page of the training you’re interested in if you have questions or need to contact someone about the training. Cowlitz County – WaHCA Peer Continuing Education Series – Co-Occurring Disorders
December 4, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
Co-occurring Disorders Training for Peer Support Counselors is interactive and provides useful tools for Peer Support Counselors working with people who experience co-occurring disorders – the coexistence of both a mental health and a substance use disorder. It will further define co-occurring disorders, introduce study results, the Stages of Change, relapse prevention, and cover the SAMHSA perspective. In a classroom setting, peer counselors will learn how to positively work with people who experience co-occurring disorders.
