What is Employment First

March 17, 2016 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 am

The last decade has seen the emergence of a movement known as “Employment First” across the United States. The core principle of this movement is that for individuals with disabilities needing assistance and support, employment in the general workforce should be the priority. This webinar will review the history of Employment First, its implications for Washington State, and its role in advancing employment for individuals with mental illness and substance use disorders.

This is the announcement for the monthly webinar in our 2016 DBHR Employment Topical Webinar Series intended to inform, educate and coordinate resources for individuals with mental health and substance use issues who need employment services, resources and supports. This webinar series is designed for professionals and anyone interested in increasing their understanding of the advantages and resources that promotes employment in the lives of people with behavioral health disabilities.

This month’s webinar features David Hoff, Project Manager for the Institute for Community Inclusion – University of Massachusetts.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
