SUMMARY:Compassion Fatigue & Professional Sustainability
DESCRIPTION:What is the difference between Burnout & Compassion Fatigue? How do you prevent and recover from it?\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\nThis training includes a 2-hour bonus video. Link to video will be sent after registration.\nCompassion Fatigue is a term used to describe the psychological\, emotional\, and physical costs of working in one of the helping professions\, such as healthcare\, education\, mental health\, disaster relief\, law enforcement\, hospice care\, and social and environmental justice. \nThe individuals involved in these and other similar professions pay a high emotional price because trauma can be contagious – especially for the highly empathetic\, who are likely to choose professions where they will be always reaching out a hand to help others. \nThe impact of absorbing secondary trauma can affect both the professional and personal life and alter one’s worldview. The good news is there are healthy ways to combat this onslaught and to build positive defenses against secondary trauma. \nRegistration Info \nCost: $65 \n\nNo refunds are given\nAttendee substitutions accepted up to 48 hours before training

SUMMARY:ASIST training
DESCRIPTION:ASIST training counts towards WA DOH CEs for clinicians.\nMonday & Tuesday\, January 10th & 11th\, 2022 \nClass is from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. both days \nPlease arrive by 8:45 am. The class will begin promptly at 9:00 am \nTwo-day attendance is required for certificates and CEs.\nApplied Suicide Intervention Skills Training | ASIST (12.5 CEs) \nCrisis Connections is proud to offer the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)\, an internationally recognized workshop using evidence-based best practices. Evaluations have shown that the workshop increases caregivers’ knowledge and confidence to respond to a person at risk of suicide\, that intervention skills are retained over time\, and that they are put to use to save lives. \n*This training is approved for 12.5 CEs by the Washington State Licensed Mental Health Counselors\, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists\, and Licensed Social Workers. SUMMARY:Compassion Fatigue Prevention & Recovery for Professional Sustainability
DESCRIPTION:Compassion Fatigue is a term used to describe the psychological\, emotional\, and physical costs of working in one of the helping professions\, such as healthcare\, education\, mental health\, disaster relief\, law enforcement\, hospice care\, and social and environmental justice. SUMMARY:2021 NAMI Washington State Conference: YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
DESCRIPTION:The COVID19 pandemic put the world as we know it into Isolation. Isolation from family\, friends\, and colleagues. For those who could\, consigned to work at home\, or in near-empty office buildings. For those who couldn’t work from home – the anxiety and stress of moving through a world that was shut down\, and honestly\, dangerous to one’s physical health. Constrained from gatherings\, and confused about the level and intensity of our emotional reactions to this turbulent time. \n  \nPeople living with serious mental and behavioral health challenges have been deeply affected by the pandemic and others have experienced mental health issues for the first time. Uncertainty about the future continues to be very real\, immediate\, and distressing. It is essential to prioritize our mental health and stay connected with friends\, family\, and peers. No one should feel alone in their mental health journey; this is the theme of NAMI Washington’s 2021 Annual State Conference: YOU ARE NOT ALONE! \n  \nDuring our 2021 conference\, we will endeavor to turn the tragic and life-changing impact of COVID-19 into a spotlight on the growing need for systemic improvements in our behavioral health care system. We will focus on connection\, and increased awareness through the presentation of innovative and intersectional behavioral health programs\, topics\, and ideas. Collectively\, we can help each other start to heal and find a path to recovery. Together we can realize our shared vision of a state – and nation – where anyone affected by a behavioral health condition can get the appropriate support and quality of care to live healthy\, fulfilling lives –where no one feels alone in their struggle. \n  \nJoin us for our 2021 NAMI Washington State Conference on October 16! Tickets are $5-$50. For more information\, and to register: CLICK HERE

SUMMARY:Behavioral Health Webinar Series – Supporting ED Providers in Suicide Prevention Best Practices
DESCRIPTION:Historically\, EDs have had to assume major responsibilities for meeting the needs of individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Approximately 4\,000 of these individuals in Washington state seek suicide care in EDs each month\, with potentially even higher rates of risk in the wake of COVID-19. With the groundbreaking passage of national and state 9-8-8 laws\, the landscape of behavioral health crisis is expected to be transformed. Despite these changes\, it provides the opportunity for EDs to redefine their role in the system and advocate for resources needed to effectively identify and manage patients at risk for suicide. \nThis webinar seeks to support ED administrators and providers for this role. It will debut a new checklist and resources that have been developed through a collaboration with ED providers and includes input from individuals with lived experience and their families. This event will also highlight best practices in suicide care happening in ED settings across WA state. \nFor more information: https://www.wsha.org/event/behavioral-health-webinar-series-7/ \n
