SUMMARY:Buprenorphine Waiver Training
DESCRIPTION:Completion of the 4-hour in-person course as well as a 4-hour online follow-up allows physicians to prescribe buprenorphine for office-based treatment of opioid use disorder. ARNPs and PA-Cs require an additional 16 hours of training. CME is approved by American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP) or American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). Other interested professionals\, such as team members and chemical dependency counselors\, are also welcome to attend and learn more about buprenorphine as space allows. Medical residents from any specialty are welcome. DESCRIPTION:STAY is a brief intervention for families with adolescents (11+) experiencing moderate disruptive behaviors and/or other co-morbid mental health issues (depression\, anxiety). The STAY model uses a hybrid of evidence-based strategies and techniques that include parent management interventions and components of cognitive behavioral therapy which are delivered through a multi-step approach over the course of 4-8 sessions. At the conclusion of the 4-8 sessions\, guidance is provided as to how to transition a family into an extended treatment\, if needed. \nSTAY was originally developed for families with adolescents who are experiencing disruptive behaviors that are causing family distress but may not require a more intensive intervention. SUMMARY:STAY* – A brief intervention for families of adolescents with disruptive behaviors
DESCRIPTION:STAY is a brief intervention for families with adolescents (11+) experiencing moderate disruptive behaviors and/or other co-morbid mental health issues (depression\, anxiety). The STAY model uses a hybrid of evidence-based strategies and techniques that include parent management interventions and components of cognitive behavioral therapy which are delivered through a multi-step approach over the course of 4-8 sessions. At the conclusion of the 4-8 sessions\, guidance is provided as to how to transition a family into an extended treatment\, if needed. \nSTAY was originally developed for families with adolescents who are experiencing disruptive behaviors that are causing family distress but may not require a more intensive intervention. It can also be used as a method of engaging the family in the youth’s mental health treatment for other co-morbid conditions that are contributing to family conflict and/or distress. \nFor more information\, CLICK HERE.

Youth peer support is an emerging and innovative role within mental health that is seen as valuable for young adults who are system involved. While many agencies want to employ or do employ youth peer support specialists\, there are many questions and challenges regarding how to best support this role. In this webinar we will clarify the responsibilities and boundaries of the youth peer support role and offer tips on how to support this role and these employees within your agency. \nAbout the Presenters: \nCaitlin Baird is a Project Manager and Trainer with Pathways Research and Training Center at Portland State University. Caitlin has experience working directly with transition aged youth and young adults as a peer support specialist and as a supervisor for peer support specialists in wraparound and other mental health settings\, as well as her own lived experience within mental health systems. DESCRIPTION:This program is designed as a staff development program for front-line professionals who work directly with people with mental health conditions. The course is designed to expand the participants’ compassion for people affected by mental health conditions—those with the condition and their family/caregivers—and to promote a collaborative model of care. \n  \nTo be eligible to become a presenter you must meet one of three requirements (and you can fall into more than one category!) \n\nBe a mental health professional\nBe living with a mental illness\nHave a family member who is living with a mental illness\n\n  \nThis is a team-based presentation\, we encourage complete teams to come to the training together. The ideal team size is 3 trained individuals\, but in some circumstances can be a team of 2\, as long as those 2 people meet all three required roles (listed above).
